During the pandemic, I became the caregiver for my grandmother, who was in late-stage Alzheimer’s.

We had missed the early signs—her forgetfulness, anxiety, and personality changes—thinking they were just part of aging. My grandfather had been her sole caregiver for years, caring for her every minute until the stress led to a stroke that left him in a coma.

That experience shaped Alzi.
